I usually "try" to do the right thing & not eat ice cream. But sometimes you just gotta say
"what the hell" & go for it. Wanting dessert and it being after 8pm in Crosby...there were
few choices. For those not familiar with Crosby...pretty much when the sun sets, everything closes. Like somebody flipped a switch. Suns down...click...closed. So we went on over to Sonic to check out the choices. Well, actually there aren't a LOT of dessert choices there. I'll have the ice cream...or the ice cream...or hey, guess what...I'll have the fricking ice cream.
I was stuck between the blast with Butterfinger or Reese's. I finally opted for the Reese's.
Well let me tell ya. There was a ton of candy on the TOP of my ice cream. It must have been
sitting close to the fryer, because it felt all hot & sweaty and nasty. And when I got past it, I
was happily looking for the little pockets of chocolate & peanut butter snuggled into my ice
cream. Well...I looked. Looked some more...and then for good measure I looked again. There
were SPECKS of something in there. But there's no guarantee that it was Reese's. It could have
been rust from the ice cream machine. I could have had this thing packed in dry ice & Fed-Exed
to FBI headquarters in Quantico VA for analysis and the end result would have been:
"Specimen is 99.99 percent ice milk product. Appears product could have been dipped into cup with chocolate & peanut butter encrusted spoon. Official verdict - Cross-contamination: YES Candy Included - NO."
(On a side note...Sonic has that new $1 Menu. One of the items on there is a BANANA. WTF? Who in the hell will pay $1 for a BANANA. People, they are 33 cents a pound...you do the math)
