We met up with some friends we hadn't seen in FOREVER. Everyone agreed on Baba Yega because it "has THE best salmon".
This place is back off the main thorough fare in Montrose and parking is a nightmare. Its right next to JR's, The Mining Co & South Beach, so if you go too late in the night, you'll have to park & walk from somewhere near Luling, TX.
The building is a converted house with multiple nooks & crannies. The service was excellent.
Two of us got salmon (which was "to die for"). My other friend got sesame crusted tuna, which she said was also "to die for".
I was the odd man out. I decided on chicken salad stuffed in a tomato with potato salad on the side. Bad choice. The chicken salad was mediocre at best. And the potato salad was the absolute worst I've ever had in the history of the world. They need to call it MINCED potato salad. The consistency is that of a mud pie. And the taste is kinda like that too.
So my 3 friends all give it a THUMBS UP.(But 2 of them are "old farts" who never go anywhere anyway, so they were probably just giddy from being away from home -and the 3rd one has a crappy sense of taste.)
So I'm gonna have to go with my own taste buds on this one.
(The pina coladas were turbo strong...they prolly wanted to get me drunk so I didn't notice the food tasted like shat)
